Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar on Thursday expressed Pakistan’s deep appreciation for its strategic partnership with China during his visit to the country.
Kakar noted that China is a valued ally, and Pakistan takes pride in its friendship. He highlighted the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a historic milestone in the two nations’ friendship, emphasizing its potential to bring economic development and prosperity to Pakistan.
While attending the third Belt and Road Forum (BRF) for international cooperation in Beijing, the interim prime minister had the privilege of meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping.
During their discussions, he conveyed Pakistan’s unwavering confidence in China. Kakar affirmed that no external influence can disrupt the strong bond between Pakistan and China, considering China as a key strategic partner.
He also expressed his admiration for the visionary leadership of President Xi Jinping and the innovative path China has taken over the years.
The caretaker premier appreciated the transformative power of China’s development model in improving the lives of millions. He extended his gratitude to the Chinese leadership for inviting him to the Belt and Road Forum, stating that China’s development serves as an inspiring example for the world to follow.
In response, Chinese President Xi Jinping underscored China's commitment to expanding its relations with Pakistan across various sectors. He highlighted that CPEC is a testament to the robust partnership between the two nations.
During the Belt and Road Forum, Anwarul Haq Kakar also had a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Both leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in multiple domains, including trade and defense.
Chairman of the China Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), Lozao Hui, held a meeting with Prime Minister Kakar. The caretaker prime minister commended the vision behind enhancing the CPEC partnership, emphasizing its positive impact on Pakistan's economic development and regional development.
Chairman CIDCA expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar's proposal to expedite the implementation of Gwadar-Dalbandin Railway (GDI) and extended support for CPEC projects. He assured continued cooperation across sectors such as agriculture, health, education, and training.
