The airfare for flights from Lahore to Jeddah has experienced a significant decline in October 2023, following a reduction in petrol and diesel prices by the caretaker federal government.
This price cut comes as welcome news for the multitude of Pakistanis who frequently travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where approximately 2.64 million Pakistani workers are employed.
Several prominent airlines, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Air Blue, and Saudi Airlines, cater to the high demand for this route, which remains one of the busiest in the region.
PIA ticket prices from Lahore to Jeddah
The national flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has introduced a range of ticket prices for its Lahore to Jeddah flights in October 2023.
These fares vary depending on the chosen travel dates and class. Economy class tickets are available for a competitive range of Rs71,772 to Rs77,332.
The new rates are notably lower compared to the September prices, which had exceeded Rs83,000 for the same route.
Saudi Airlines ticket prices
Saudi Airlines, another significant player in this route, offers a range of ticket prices. As of October 19, 2023, travelers can secure tickets for as low as Rs78,789.
Prices may go up to Rs88,692, depending on various factors such as booking class and travel date.
Air Blue ticket prices
Air Blue, a popular choice for many passengers, has reduced its fares as well. The lowest available ticket price without baggage is a budget-friendly Rs63,753 for flights scheduled on October 23, 2023.
For travelers requiring a 20kg baggage allowance, the ticket price stands at Rs67,575.
The drop in airfare prices is attributed to the recent decrease in petrol and diesel prices, a measure that has positively impacted travel costs for those embarking on the Lahore to Jeddah journey.
This price reduction is expected to ease the financial burden on the substantial number of Pakistani expatriates who frequently travel to Saudi Arabia for work and business purposes.
