Saudi Arabia’s popular fast-food chain AlBaik is set to make its debut in Pakistan with the agreement now in its final stages.
During the meeting with AlBaik's owner Rami Abu Ghazala in Jeddah, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan discussed the operational framework and potential locations for AlBaik’s branches across major Pakistani cities.
The commerce minister - who is currently on an official visit to Saudi Arabia - also met with prominent Saudi businessmen to explore avenues for strengthening trade ties.
He highlighted Pakistan’s improving business environment, facilitated by initiatives like the Single Window system and the National Compliance Center.
Saudi investors have expressed keen interest in Pakistan’s energy, agriculture, IT, and construction sectors, with both sides agreeing to enhance bilateral economic relations.
According to Jam Kamal Khan, Saudi exports to Pakistan have seen a 22% rise, with total trade volume reaching $700 million.
Moreover, remittances from Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia amounted to $7.4 billion, underlining the strong financial link between the two nations.
The Saudi government’s recent visa policy, allowing GCC citizens visa-free entry for up to 90 days, is expected to further facilitate economic exchanges.
Minister Jam Kamal Khan emphasised that Pakistan offers a conducive business environment with significant opportunities for expansion.
