WhatsApp unveiled a new feature in its beta version that enabled users to create and share events in one-on-one chats.
The feature, included in WhatsApp beta version 2.25.3.6 for Android and version 25.2.10.73 for iOS, allowed scheduling and managing events within private conversations.
According to the WABetaInfo report, this functionality had previously remained under development but had now been made available to some beta testers. It had already existed in group chats but had not been accessible in individual conversations.
With this introduction, users no longer needed to rely on external calendars or third-party applications for scheduling personal appointments and one-on-one meetings. The event creation option had been integrated into the sharing menu within private chats, alongside camera, gallery, and document sharing options.
Users could input event details such as name, date, time, location, and even generate a WhatsApp video or voice call link. Those enrolled in the WhatsApp beta programme on Android or iOS could update their applications to check the availability of the feature. If unavailable, it was expected to roll out soon to all users, including non-beta participants.
