Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi urged on Saturday Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to avoid staging protests on February 8, emphasising the importance of maintaining order.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the passport office at the NADRA centre in Lahore, Naqvi stated that no call had been received from the United States regarding founder Imran Khan.
The minister refuted social media claims about US intervention in Pakistan’s internal affairs and described the country’s relations with the United States as stable.
"No call was made from the United States for the PTI founder. The rumours circulating on social media hold no truth. Pakistan enjoys good relations with the US, and the positive outcomes of my visit to America will become evident soon," he said.
Naqvi underscored the government’s ongoing crackdown against human traffickers, stressing that strict action had been taken against those involved in illegal migration.
He warned that individuals attempting to leave the country through unlawful means would face consequences.
While highlighting institutional reforms, Naqvi stated that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) would undergo significant improvements in the coming days.
"Reforms have been initiated within FIA, and positive changes will become visible soon," he remarked.
