Authorities have decided to deploy anti-drone technology to enhance security at Gaddafi Stadium during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, police officials confirmed on Saturday.
In a letter to law enforcement agencies, the Lahore police requested the implementation of anti-drone measures to prevent unauthorized aerial surveillance and potential security threats. The technology will be used in the stadium's surrounding areas, ensuring that no drone can operate within its vicinity.
“The system will be capable of blocking signals received by any type of drone, effectively preventing unauthorized aerial activity during the matches,” a police official said.
The security arrangements come as Lahore prepares to host crucial matches of the upcoming tri-nation series featuring Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa. The series, set to begin on February 8, will see Pakistan face New Zealand in the opening game at Gaddafi Stadium.
