A network of 39 websites operating in Pakistan, which were involved in the sale of tools used for fraud and hacking, was shut down.
The operation followed an investigation led by the United States Department of Justice and the FBI.
According to US officials, the network was being run by Syed Raza, also known as 'Heart Sender', from within Pakistan. These websites were implicated in the sale of tools that were used for criminal activities, including hacking.
The fraud tools were also sold to criminals in the United States, resulting in losses of $30,000 for American citizens.
The FBI received assistance from the Dutch police in taking action against the network.
Moreover, the Dutch police released a statement detailing that, in 2022, software used for counterfeiting was seized from a suspect's computer, which led to the initiation of formal investigations.
Meanwhile, investigations into this network had already been underway in the United States.
