Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, accompanied by Test team captain Shan Masood visited Gaddafi Stadium to assess its preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy matches.
Former cricketers Aaqib Javed, Wahab Riaz, Azhar Ali, Asad Shafiq, and umpire Aleem Dar, along with Masood, commended on Friday the timely completion of the stadium’s renovation.
They toured the enclosures and reviewed the upgraded facilities.
Javed expressed his delight at the pace and quality of the work. “It was a pleasure to witness the stadium’s high-standard transformation in such an extraordinary timeframe,” he said.
Masood appreciated the extensive upgrades and declared that the stadium had been completely modernised. “Gaddafi Stadium has turned into a brand-new, state-of-the-art venue in an exceptionally short period,” he said.
Riaz highlighted the improvements made for spectators, noting that fans would now enjoy a better view of the matches.
“The stadium’s renovation has significantly enhanced the viewing experience for cricket enthusiasts,” he said.
The head coach, Test captain, and selection committee also inspected the main building and dressing rooms.
