Thousands of residents in Kotli and Muzaffarabad districts marked India's Republic Day as 'Black Day' through organized protest rallies, expressing solidarity with those living in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
In Kotli, the district administration coordinated a march from the Deputy Commissioner's office to Ashar Chowk. Simultaneously, the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Cell and refugee groups organized a demonstration at Burhan Muzaffar Wani Shaheed Chowk in Muzaffarabad, led by Liberation Cell Director Raja Muhammad Aslam.
The Muzaffarabad rally later proceeded toward Do Meel, with participants carrying banners and raising slogans including "Continue Struggle Until Kashmir's Freedom" and "Occupiers Leave Our Kashmir."
Protesters called on the international community to address human rights violations in IIOJK and reaffirmed their support for Kashmiris living under occupation. The demonstrations highlighted ongoing concerns about the situation in the region while maintaining order throughout the proceedings.
The annual observance of Black Day coincides with India's Republic Day celebrations, serving as a platform for Kashmiris to voice their political aspirations and concerns about conditions in IIOJK.
