Balochistan: Polling for the by-elections in local government is underway across 25 districts in the province wherein 167 candidates are contesting in 50 wards, with 43,748 registered voters exercising their right to vote.
The polling process began at 8:00 AM. However, due to cold weather, voter turnout was initially low in the morning. As the day progresses, an increase in voter presence at polling stations is being observed.
To facilitate voters, 60 polling stations and 138 polling booths have been set up across the province.
According to SAMAA’s correspondent from Khuzdar, Aamir Bajoi, strict security arrangements have been implemented to ensure a peaceful election process, while polling staff is diligently performing their duties.
The public's participation in these by-elections reflects the growing strength of the democratic process in Balochistan. Polling will continue until 5:00 PM.
