Former Additional Commissioner Malik Khadim Jelani Awan was abducted from his home in the early hours of January 24 in the Sattokatla area of Lahore.
Unknown assailants also took valuable items, cash, and a car during the incident.
According to the police, the suspects broke into the house, held the family hostage, and looted valuable mobile phones, cash, gold, and other belongings.
When Malik Khadim Jelani resisted, the abductors subjected him to physical violence and forcibly took him away in his car.
An FIR has been lodged based on the statement of the victim’s wife. According to the FIR, 9 to 10 individuals climbed over the wall to enter the house and abducted her husband when he resisted.
The suspects also made off with cash, jewelry, valuable mobile phones, and other possessions.
The police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
Teams have been formed to apprehend the culprits, and all possible efforts are being made to ensure the safe recovery of the abductee.
