West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite said on Friday that the visitors were looking to level the series against Pakistan in the second Test, slated to begin tomorrow at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan.
Addressing a press conference in Multan ahead of the second Test, Brathwaite talked about the pitch behavior in the first Test, saying, "The pitch was quite tough to bat in in the previous Test. The players should have the self-belief."
"Every batter has a different nature. We are looking forward to adjusting our gameplay according to the conditions," said Brathwaite.
Speaking about Pakistan's approach to playing in the home conditions, he said, "Pakistan is utilizing the opportunity of playing in the home conditions by preparing the spin-friendly wicket, which is good for them."
He acknowledged the bowling brilliance showcased by West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican, saying, "Warrican has bowled brilliantly in the first Test. Hopefully, he will also perform well in the second Test."
"We are having the idea that the pitch in the second Test will behave in the same way it did in the first Test," he said.
Brathwaite said, "The players had practiced playing the spinners during the practice session."
He announced the induction of West Indies senior bowler Kemar Roach into the playing XI for the second Test.
