Indian media on Wednesday raised questions about Rohit Sharma’s participation in the captains’ meeting for the ICC Champions Trophy, citing ongoing uncertainty.
According to reports, the event, expected to take place on 16 or 17 February, may be held in Pakistan or relocated to the UAE.
The venue decision remains pending, leaving doubts about Sharma’s attendance.
“No discussions have been held regarding Rohit Sharma’s visit to Pakistan,” revealed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devajit Saikia.

Separately, renowned Indian sports journalist Vikrant Gupta hoped that the Indian spinners would “perform well” in the Dubai-leg of the highly anticipated Champions Trophy, slated to happen from February 19.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Gupta talked about the ongoing ILT20 in Dubai to predict the potential conditions during the upcoming Champions Trophy at the same venue.
“Finally spinners are coming into play at the Dubai stadium in ILT20,” he added.
