The Bagh Winter Youth Gala wrapped up on January 20 with a lively closing ceremony, marking the culmination of an eventful week that began with initial competitions on January 14 and 15.
Hundreds of students from government and private schools, APS, and madrassas participated in various athletic competitions, showcasing their talent and enthusiasm. The finals on the closing day included thrilling events like the 100m, 200m, 400m, 400m relay races, shot put, long jump, discus throw, and javelin throw.
The ceremony attracted a large audience, including students, parents, and locals, who cheered enthusiastically for the participants. Dignitaries such as Pakistan Army officers, the Mayor of Bagh, the Deputy Commissioner, the Chairman of the Ulama and Mashaikh Council of Azad Kashmir, and SSP Bagh graced the occasion.
Stalls by the Pakistan Army, featuring medical services, signals equipment, and weaponry, drew significant attention. Spectators were captivated by military band performances, a tableau by APS students, self-defense and unarmed combat demonstrations, and horse dances. Additional attractions included veterinary, agricultural, handicrafts, and food stalls.
The winners of the athletic events were honored with prizes during the closing ceremony, which concluded with a stunning fireworks display that left the audience in awe.
Local residents expressed their gratitude to the civil administration and the Pakistan Army for organizing the event and voiced their desire for similar initiatives in the future to foster youth engagement and community spirit.
