Three senior judges of the Supreme Court including Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Ayesha Malik, and Justice Aqeel Abbasi have written a letter to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi.
All judges in a letter expressed concerns over the non-scheduling of the important "bench powers" case, terming the issue a violation of judicial orders and contempt of court.
The letter also addressed to Justice Aminuddin Khan raised objections to the failure to hear the case on January 20, despite prior directives.

It noted that Justice Aqeel Abbasi, who had been added to the bench on January 16, had previously heard the case in the Sindh High Court.
Judicial orders ignored
In the letter, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah criticised the delay, stating that the case should have been scheduled in line with earlier judicial instructions.
He remarked that by not appointing the case for hearing, the judicial order was effectively ignored, which, he asserted, amounted to disobedience of the law.
The letter also referenced a meeting of the Practice and Procedure Committee held on January 17.
Justice Mansoor clarified that his stance on the matter was on record, but he had refused to attend the meeting, as he believed the committee had the authority to form the previous bench and schedule the hearing without his involvement.
Justice Mansoor emphasised that the failure to schedule the case violated judicial norms and undermined the integrity of the legal process.
He explicitly labeled the non-scheduling of the case as contempt of court, urging the Chief Justice to take appropriate action
