Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra tied the knot with Himani Mor, a former tennis player in a private ceremony on Sunday, January 19.
The javelin star took to social media to share glimpses of the wedding, which was attended by close family members and held in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
The wedding photos, shared with the caption, "Started a new chapter of life with my family," sent a wave of surprise and joy among Neeraj's fans. Expressing gratitude for their union, he wrote, “Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after.”
Ceremony and plans
The ceremony was an intimate affair, with only 40-50 guests in attendance, comprising close family and friends.
Sources revealed that the couple is currently in the United States for their honeymoon. A grand reception is planned for their return to India.
The wedding comes months after Chopra clinched his second Olympic medal, securing silver at the Paris Games. The 2021 Tokyo Olympics gold medallist remains a celebrated figure in Indian sports, having achieved historic feats in javelin throw.
Who is Himani Mor?
Hailing from Sonipat, Haryana, Himani Mor is a former tennis player and a sports management professional. A graduate of Miranda House, Delhi University, she pursued further studies in Sports Management and Business Administration in the United States.
Himani is currently completing a Master of Science from the Isenberg School of Management and serves as the team manager for the women’s tennis team at Amherst College, Massachusetts. Her professional background also includes roles in sports administration, business development, and strategic planning.

Former cricketer Suresh Raina extended his wishes, writing, “May your journey together be filled with beautiful memories and unwavering companionship.” Actor Gajraj Rao was among the early well-wishers to congratulate the couple.
Neeraj Chopra's last competitive appearance was at the Diamond League Final on September 14, where he secured second place with a best throw of 87.86m. Earlier in the season, he recorded his personal best of 89.49m at the Lausanne Diamond League. At the Paris Olympics, Chopra’s throw of 89.45m earned him silver, falling behind Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who claimed gold with a record-breaking effort of 92.97m.
