Awam Pakistan Party (APP) convener Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Sunday that there exists no leader in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) other than Imran Khan.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme, “Mere Sawal With Absar Alam”, the former prime minister said: “The political leaders cannot be subtracted. Even former president Pervez Musharraf tried to subtract Nawaz Sharif from the politics, but he could not do that.”
“Nawaz Sharif was replaced by her daughter in Punjab and Shehbaz Sharif in the center. Though Nawaz Sharif was subtracted from his own house,” he added.
“The country bears the brunt of subtracting the political leaders,” said Abbasi.
He claimed: “The government is not having too much powers. The establishment is having a main role in running the country’s affairs.”
“The role of the judiciary has also been ended,” he said.
The former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart said, “The government is merely trying to protect itself.”
Abbasi maintained, “The opposition can only take place if Imran Khan talks about the welfare of the masses.”
Speaking about £190m case, Abbasi said: “There is a concern about how the agreement has been made in this regard. The agreement cannot be approved without the consent of the cabinet.”
