The Judicial Commission of Pakistan, chaired by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi, convened two separate meetings to deliberate on the appointment of additional judges for the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and Balochistan High Court (BHC).
The commission approved the nominations of Azam Khan and Raja Inam Amin Minhas as additional judges for the Islamabad High Court. Sources said the commission nominated two out of the four candidates.
While the decision for the Islamabad High Court appointments was made by majority vote, the approval of judges for the Balochistan High Court was reached unanimously.
For the Balochistan High Court, the Judicial Commission nominated Muhammad Asif, Najamuddin Mengal, and Muhammad Ayub as additional judges. Sources confirm that the nominations were finalised after careful consideration of their professional credentials and judicial expertise.
Raja Inam Amin Minhas, one of the newly nominated additional judges for the Islamabad High Court, is a former president of the Islamabad High Court Bar Association, known for his legal acumen and extensive experience in judicial matters.
The commission also addressed candidates who could not secure the required majority vote, stating that they will be reconsidered for future vacancies.
