Defense Minister Khawaja Asif addressing the media raised serious concerns regarding Malik Riaz and the Al-Qadir Trust case demanding accountability and condemning the misuse of public funds.
He criticized the PTI leadership stating, “Action should be taken against Malik Riaz. That is why he is not coming back to Pakistan.”
Khawaja Asif questioned PTI supporters, asking why their funds ended up in Malik Riaz’s account, adding that the 190 million pounds in question belonged to the Pakistani people. “This entire matter unfolded in the Supreme Court during PTI’s rule,” he remarked.
He further alleged that Al-Qadir University was not a legitimate institution, stating, “The trustees of 450 acres of land are the founder of PTI and his wife. It is a disgrace that after such a massive fraud, religion is used as a shield.”
Highlighting discrepancies, Asif revealed, “A sealed envelope was presented to the cabinet for approval, and its contents were not disclosed. It has never happened in Pakistan that state money was transferred to an individual’s account.”
Khawaja Asif lambasted PTI founder Imran Khan, accusing him of looting public wealth and coming to power through backdoor means. “The person who labeled others as thieves is now exposed in a robbery case,” he stated. He further claimed, “When PML-N and PPP leaders were in jail, he was busy orchestrating this theft.”
Addressing the ongoing Al-Qadir Trust case verdict, Asif expressed disappointment over the delay. “Today is a moment of shame for 250 million Pakistanis. Lies remain lies, and today’s decision has further damaged the judiciary’s credibility,” he stated.
Asif also addressed PTI’s negotiating stance, saying, “This clause has been placed by PTI in the negotiations, but before any agreement, extradition must be done.” He clarified, “No executive order will be passed to end his sentence.”
On economic matters, Khawaja Asif noted a reduction in inflation and emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing the nation’s challenges. He reiterated that the PML-N leadership, including Nawaz Sharif, was wrongfully implicated in the past, saying, “Nawaz Sharif was imprisoned on baseless charges, while today’s decision exposes those who accused him.”
Khawaja Asif “The people of Pakistan deserve to know the truth, and those responsible must be held accountable for their actions.”
