Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said on Thursday that Pakistan cannot afford war with Afghanistan.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme, “Nadeem Malik Live”, Rehman said: “Afghanistan needs to understand that its matters cannot be addressed without us [Pakistan].”
“We have come up with the proposal that the JI and other political forces should hold the jirga on the matter,” said Rehman.
“Some of the delegations will visit Afghanistan in the forthcoming days,” said Rehman.
He recalled the February 8 general elections, asserting, “We [JI] are saying from the day one that these elections were rigged more than before.”
He lamented the “lack of stability” in the country and took a jibe at the incumbent government, saying, “If those with Form-47 will rule, the country cannot witness the stability.”
“Right now it seems as if the trust lacks between the military and masses,” the JI emir claimed.
He was of the view that everybody should work within the given boundaries.
Rehman lamented the surge in terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “The terrorism is being transpired in KP.”
He said, “We held a meeting with the army chief to discuss the law and order situation in the country.”
“We have not talked a lot on the matters pertaining to the government,” he said.
Meanwhile, expressing his thoughts on “Nadeem Malik Live,” Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Umair Niazi said: “No matter if the government causes an uproar, Imran Khan is coming out of the jail. Imran Khan wants to come out of the jail after facing all the cases against him.”
He stated, “The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is not doing the negotiations by choice but because of the necessity of ideology.”
“The government needs to reveal the agreement between Malik Riaz and NCA in connection with the £190million case,” Niazi added.
“In line with the talks, the allied parties will prepare one response, which will be our final one,” he said.
Niazi said, “The government will reply for constituting the commission in seven days. Subsequently, the TORs will be decided.”
He asserted, “The negotiations will pave the way for holding new elections.”
