In her statement, Kareena's team emphasized that Saif was injured in a scuffle with the intruder but that the rest of the family, including their children Jeh and Taimur, are safe.
The statement read: "There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence last night. Saif had an injury on his arm for which he is in hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is doing fine. We request media and fans to be patient and not speculate any further as the Police are already doing their due investigations. Thank you all for your concern."
Kareena had been dining out with friends Rhea Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, and sister Karisma Kapoor at the time of the incident. Karisma had shared a picture of their dinner on Instagram, captioning it “Girls night in.”
The Bandra Police have registered an FIR and are investigating the crime, which involved a confrontation between Saif and the intruder. Saif’s team requested the media and fans to refrain from speculation, calling the matter an ongoing police investigation.
Authorities are focusing on identifying and arresting the intruder, with reports suggesting that only one suspect is believed to be involved in the crime. Three house attendants are being questioned, with one reportedly sustaining injuries during the altercation.
Saif Ali Khan, who had returned to Mumbai just a week ago after a New Year's vacation in Switzerland with Kareena and their children, is expected to make a full recovery. Further updates are awaited as the investigation continues.
