As the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement enters the global spotlight, leaders from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the UAE have voiced their reactions stressing the importance of peace, humanitarian aid, and adherence to the terms of the deal.
Saudi Arabia calls for full Israeli withdrawal
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry welcomed the ceasefire, stressing the critical need for a complete withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Gaza and other Palestinian territories.
The kingdom also reiterated the importance of ensuring the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes. “The international community must remain committed to safeguarding the rights of Palestinians,” the ministry stated, urging both sides to abide by the ceasefire and push for lasting peace in the region. Saudi Arabia’s response highlights its longstanding support for Palestinian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Turkey hopes for lasting peace and stability
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed hope that the ceasefire would be a step towards lasting peace in the region. Speaking at a press conference, Erdogan emphasized that the deal should not only alleviate the suffering of Palestinians but also contribute to regional stability.
“I hope this agreement will be beneficial for our Palestinian brothers and the entire region,” Erdogan said, adding that the truce could pave the way for broader peace efforts. Turkey has been vocal in its support for Palestine, and the president’s statement reiterates Ankara’s commitment to finding peaceful solutions to the conflict.
UAE calls for unhindered aid and accountability
The United Arab Emirates, through Foreign Minister Abdullah Bin Zayed, called for unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. The UAE has long been an advocate for humanitarian efforts in the region and emphasized that both Israel and Hamas must honor the commitments made under the agreement.
“It is crucial that the ceasefire leads to the cessation of hostilities and provides immediate relief to the Palestinian people,” Bin Zayed stated, also calling for the protection of Palestinian prisoners and Israeli hostages. The UAE’s reaction underscores the importance of international cooperation in delivering aid and ensuring that the ceasefire holds.
