The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Tuesday a pivotal decision regarding the coaching staff of the national team, appointing former Test cricketer Abdur Rehman as the spin bowling coach.
Rehman, who has represented Pakistan in Test, ODI, and T20 International cricket from 2006 to 2014, joined the team in Multan and prepared to assume his responsibilities from the upcoming series against the West Indies.
The left-arm spinner accumulated 140 wickets during his international career and earning recognition for his expertise and precision.
During 2011-12, Rehman had made a great combination with ace spinner Saeed Ajmal in Pakistan's spin bowling department, paving the way for the Green Shirts' clean sweep over England in the United Arab Emirates in 2012.
Apart from his international experience, Rehman previously served as a coach for the Pakistan women’s team, further solidifying his credentials.
Pakistan will take on the West Indies in the first of the two-match Test series from January 17.
