Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez assailed on Saturday the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for accepting the hybrid model for the forthcoming Champions Trophy, slated to happen next February.
Speaking exclusively to Samaa TV, Hafeez said, “The dressing room is not available during the first-class matches. The water and washroom facilities for the players are quite substandard.”
“There was a focus to make the Champions Cup a successful event. But nobody is focusing on uplifting the first class,” the ace all-rounder stated.
Hafeez said, “The players are being sent to the strike-force camp from the first class.”
“The strike-force camp should have taken place during the off season,” he added.
He urged the PCB to focus on its priorities.
Speaking about Saim Ayub, Hafeez hoped, “Saim Ayub will not be ruled out of the Champions Trophy and will represent Pakistan for up to the next 15 years.”
