Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal expressed frustration over the city’s ongoing infrastructure issues, particularly the poor state of streets and water shortages.
Addressing a gathering in Karachi’s Kemari area, he emphasized that if the right leadership had been in place, Karachi would have been a model city by now.
Ahsan Iqbal stated, "If Pakistan had been led in the right direction, today it would have been Asia’s economic tiger." He criticized former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s leadership, claiming that "some people handed over Pakistan’s keys to an inexperienced leader."
He further added, "History will remember them as the worst traitors of Pakistan," lamenting that the dreams and future of the nation’s 240 million people had been stolen.
Iqbal accused the previous leadership of pushing Pakistan back into darkness, saying, "If an unknown person is placed in charge at the Kemari port on a truck, he will inevitably cause an accident."
He criticized how Pakistan’s leadership was handed over by a few generals and judges to an individual who had no administrative experience, pointing out that a union council chairman would be better suited to run the country. "A union council chairman knows more about governance than the founder of PTI," he concluded.
‘Imran Khan should muster courage to admit to seeking NRO’
Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has strongly criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing the party of engaging in actions that even India’s intelligence agency, RAW, wouldn’t dare to attempt.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Iqbal alleged that PTI’s international wing is providing support to India and Israel, claiming the party has become the "biggest asset" for anti-Pakistan forces. "If PTI believes the cases against them are false, they should present evidence in court," he remarked.
Iqbal questioned PTI’s motives, asking, "Who is responsible for dragging Pakistan into the dock in the United States, Europe, and the United Nations? Whose politics is this?"
Rejecting any possibility of the government releasing the PTI founder through an executive order, Iqbal said, "The PTI founder should muster the courage to admit that he is seeking an NRO."
He further warned that political chaos and street protests discourage investment in the country. "How can we attract investment when the streets are in turmoil and chaos prevails?" Iqbal added.
