CEO of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Salman Nasir addressed concerns raised by Multan Sultans' owner Ali Tareen during his appearance on SAMAA Digital's program Zor Ka Jor.
Nasir emphasized that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is the parent organization and, like any family, disagreements can arise, but these should not be aired publicly. He refrained from commenting on Ali Tareen’s remarks, maintaining that all PSL franchises are unique and important.
Nasir also highlighted the strength of Pakistani players, noting that all players in the league are stars, and every team carefully selects its players. He mentioned that the current format is strong and features several new additions for this season.
Regarding the upcoming PSL season, Nasir confirmed that 510 players from 19 countries had registered, with notable participation from Australian and West Indies players.
He explained that the timing of the league, coinciding with the Champions Trophy in February, was chosen to accommodate international players.
"This will be the best season yet, with many players making their debut in the PSL, including David Warner, Tim Southee, and Darrell Mitchell," he added.
Nasir also praised Lahore Qalandars for their efforts in player development and fan engagement, acknowledging their success in building a strong fan base and supporting their players.
