Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the shift of the upcoming tri-series between Pakistan, New Zealand, and South Africa to Multan. Initially scheduled to be held in Multan, the tri-series will now take place in Karachi and Lahore, as the PCB prioritizes preparations for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
The series, set to be played in the second week of February, will see matches hosted at the National Stadium in Karachi and Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The decision comes in light of the ongoing preparations at these venues for the prestigious Champions Trophy.
According to the PCB, this shift demonstrates the board’s commitment and capability to upgrade the stadiums to meet international standards.
The ongoing development work at the National Stadium and Gaddafi Stadium will be completed on schedule, with the latter’s capacity increased to 35,000 spectators.
The tri-series shift allows the PCB to better align its plans for the Champions Trophy, ensuring the venues are fully ready for the event.
