Pakistan is set to return to the international squash arena as host of the Under-23 World Squash Championship in 2025. The announcement was made during a pre-launch ceremony held in Karachi, attended by prominent officials and sports administrators.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who attended as the chief guest, pledged the provincial government's full support for the championship. "The Sindh government will continue its tradition of providing comprehensive support for sporting events," Shah stated during the ceremony.
The Corps Commander Karachi, addressing the gathering, assured that the Pakistan Armed Forces would maintain their role in promoting sports development. He credited the successful bid to host the championship to collaborative efforts between the Pakistan Squash Federation, Sindh Squash Federation, and DHA Karachi.
The event marks Pakistan's return to hosting major international squash tournaments after a considerable period. Stakeholders from various sectors who attended the pre-launch ceremony endorsed the initiative, highlighting its relevance for sports development in the country.
