In a historic moment for India, the country welcomed its first ‘Generation Beta’ baby as a boy was born at Synod Hospital in Aizawl, the capital of Manipur’s northeastern state, shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day.
Named Frankie Remruatdika Zadeng, the newborn made his entrance into the world at 12:03 AM, marking the beginning of a new era.
Weighing just over three kilograms at birth, the baby boy has been reported to be healthy and without complications, according to a hospital nurse.
“He is in good health, and there have been no issues,” said the nurse, quoted by All India Radio.
Frankie’s parents, ZD Remruatsanga and his wife Ramzirmawii, residents of Khatla East in Aizawl, are filled with joy and pride at their son’s historic birth.
Ramzirmawii expressed her happiness, stating that giving birth to the first Generation Beta baby in India was an immense privilege. The couple also has an older daughter.
What is Beta baby?
The term "Generation Beta" refers to the cohort of children born from 2025 to 2039. This generation follows Gen Z and Millennials before them, marking the beginning of a new wave of youth, shaped by the technologies and advancements of the 21st century.
The concept was coined by futurist Mark McCrindle, who anticipates that Beta babies will grow up in a world where artificial intelligence, digital connectivity, and medical breakthroughs will play central roles in their lives.
Experts predict that Gen Beta will be “digitally fluent” from birth, with deep integration into the rapidly advancing world of AI and technology. This generation will also likely witness major medical breakthroughs, including cures for previously untreatable diseases. Their lives will be intertwined with new technologies, giving them unique advantages in education, work, and personal development.
