At least five people were killed in a firing incident on a car in the Tehkal area of Peshawar on Saturday, police confirmed.
The victims travelling in a car were ambushed by unknown assailants who opened fire and fled the scene.
Police sources revealed that the attack occurred in broad daylight, spreading panic in the vicinity. Authorities have identified the areas around Warsak Road as critical and have intensified patrolling to prevent further incidents.
“The assailants managed to escape, but efforts are underway to apprehend them. Police teams have been dispatched, and checkpoints have been established in nearby areas,” a senior police official told reporters.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing the car riddled with bullets, indicating the attackers’ intent to target the victims.
