Law enforcement agencies have reported substantial seizures in their ongoing anti-smuggling operations, marking significant progress in the government's economic recovery initiatives.
In the past week alone, authorities confiscated 720 cigarette sticks, 452 cloth pieces, and 0.329 million liters of Iranian oil across various operations nationwide.
The cumulative seizures since September 1, 2023, include:
- 13,471.5 metric tons of fertilizer
- 3,792.13 metric tons of wheat flour
- 35,134.6 metric tons of sugar
- 4,408,339 cigarette sticks
- 158,452 cloth pieces
- 21.949 million liters of Iranian oil
These operations form part of the government's broader strategy to combat smuggling, which officials identify as a significant threat to the country's economic stability and growth.
