Diljit Dosanjh's much-hyped Dil-luminati tour, which has drawn fans across the world, is once again in the spotlight.
After numerous successful performances, the tour has encountered a legal hurdle in Chandigarh. The singer's team has been accused of violating noise pollution norms during a concert in the city, with authorities claiming the event exceeded permissible noise levels, potentially leading to a hefty fine.
According to a report by an Indian newspaper, the concert's sound levels in Chandigarh were significantly higher than the local noise limit of 75 decibels. The event was reportedly measured at levels ranging from 76.1 to 93.1 decibels, disturbing nearby residential areas.
In response, Chandigarh's civic body is likely to issue a notice to the concert organizers, including Dosanjh’s team, with the penalty expected to be around $18,000.
This isn't the first time Diljit’s Dil-luminati tour has come under legal scrutiny. Earlier in September, a law student filed a legal notice against the singer and his concert organizers, alleging that ticket prices were manipulated in violation of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
Furthermore, in Telangana, the state government prohibited Diljit from performing songs that referenced alcohol, drugs, or violence, forcing him to alter his lyrics during concerts.
Adding to the controversy, the tour also faced backlash over the creation of a Judges Lounge in Chandigarh, where about 300 VIP passes were reportedly distributed to judges and their families.
Despite these setbacks, Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-luminati tour continues to be one of the most successful music events in recent months, attracting massive crowds and widespread attention.
