India’s alleged involvement in covert assassinations and terrorism across various countries, including Pakistan, has been exposed in a report by the Washington Post.
The report sheds light on the activities of India’s intelligence agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), which has reportedly orchestrated targeted killings using hired assassins and Afghan-sourced weapons.
Highlighting an incident in Lahore, the report details how two masked individuals gunned down a man named Aamir Sarfraz, known by the alias "Tamba," in April 2024. This assassination is cited as part of a broader campaign initiated by RAW since 2021, targeting individuals in Pakistan.
The Washington Post alleges that RAW has been involved in at least six targeted killings within Pakistan, aiming to eliminate figures deemed adversarial to Indian interests. The report also implicates India in extrajudicial killings beyond Pakistan, including incidents in the United States and Canada.
In Canada and the U.S., RAW is accused of orchestrating the assassinations of Sikh leaders, with one such plot reportedly involving orders from a RAW officer, Kaushey Yadav, to target a Sikh separatist leader in New York. Canadian authorities have since exposed the role of Indian diplomats and RAW agents in these activities.
The report further criticised the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for sponsoring covert operations that contravene international law and constitute serious human rights violations.
While there has been no immediate response from Indian officials, the revelations have drawn widespread condemnation, with calls for an international investigation into India’s alleged use of state-sponsored terrorism.
This latest disclosure follows escalating tensions between India and several Western nations, particularly Canada, over allegations of Indian interference in domestic affairs and violations of sovereignty.
