Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi is set to introduce its latest smartphone, the Turbo 4, featuring MediaTek's new Dimensity 8400-Ultra processor, according to recent leaks from prominent industry insider Digital Chat Station (DCS).
The device, scheduled for launch on January 2, 2025, in China, showcases a vertical dual-camera arrangement on its rear panel. Sources indicate the primary camera will offer 50-megapixel resolution, complemented by an 8-megapixel secondary sensor, while a 20-megapixel front camera handles selfie duties.
Technical specifications reveal a 6.67-inch AMOLED display supporting 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will reportedly ship with configurations offering up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage capacity.
Power management appears to be a key focus, with the Turbo 4 incorporating a 6,550mAh battery supported by 90W fast charging capabilities. The device features standard connectivity options, including a USB-C port, speaker, microphone, and SIM card slot along its bottom edge.
Design elements include volume and power controls positioned on the right side of the device. The Turbo 4 will be available in three color options: black, white, and blue, according to leaked materials.
Industry observers note design similarities between the upcoming Redmi device and Apple's iPhone 16, particularly in its overall aesthetic approach.
The launch will mark the debut of MediaTek's Dimensity 8400-Ultra chipset in the smartphone market, potentially setting new performance benchmarks in its segment.

The 8400 Ultra has a prime core with 3.25GHz clock speed, three performance cores at 3.00GHz frequency and four efficiency cores running at 2.10GHz frequency.
- Display: The fascia is a 6.67-inch 1.5K resolution flat LTPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
