Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Barrister Aqeel Malik said on Thursday that the punishments awarded to those responsible for the 9 May incident underscored the state's firm commitment to upholding its authority.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Malik said: "The sentences served as a clear message regarding the supremacy of law."
Malik asserted that establishing rule of law and ensuring justice remained the state's top priorities.
He said: "The punishments strengthened public trust in the justice system."
Malik maintained: "The penalties proved that no obstacle in the path of justice would be tolerated."
