The Shoaib Malik-inspired Stallions have lifted the Champions T20 Cup by beating the Markhors in 75-run victory under the leadership of Mohammad Haris at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
According to details, chasing a 200-run target, the Markhors were bundled out for 124. The plus point of the Stallions, Yasir Khan had proved his batting prowess and compiled a terrific century for his side to steer the Stallions to 199-5.
The Stallions were 85-3 at the time when Mohammad Haris and Hussain Talat were removed on 21 and 9, respectively.
But it was Yasir Khan, who took up the responsibility and guided his team to a staggering total in the all-important final.
Yasir found an able ally in Tayyab Tahir – who had recently done with the South Africa white-ball series—to stitch a crucial 74-run partnership to power their team to a challenging total.
Jahandad Khan played a key cameo in the death overs, compiling 22 runs with the help of two sixes and one boundary.
Shoaib Malik remained not out by clubbing a six.
In reply, the Markhors needed a big partnership, but they failed to stitch one as Mohammad Ali and Jahandad Khan dominated the batters.
Muhammad Faizan (43) was removed by Abrar Ahmed. Usman Tariq removed Muhammad Imran and Saad Masood.
Khawaja Nafay and Fakhar Zaman could only score 6 and 20, respectively.
The Stallions had bagged Rs15million prize money after emerging victorious in the domestic T20 tournament.
