Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan said on Wednesday that Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub can together power Pakistan.
Speaking to media in Karachi, the T20 World Cup winning captain said: "Fakhar Zaman should definitely be there in the team. Both Fakhar and Saim should play in the middle or lower order."
"We should rally behind those who play for the team. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken the smart move in this regard," Khan stated.
He maintained: "Playing against the top teams is beneficial."
Highlighting the challenges embraced by the Pakistan cricket during the testing times, Khan said: "We have played our cricket abroad for nine years. Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali had played their cricket mostly on the foreign conditions."
He shed light on the franchise system in the competitive cricket, saying, "The cricket board gets support from the franchise cricket."
"Today, it is not an easy thing to organise the local cricket tournament. It is a good omen that the big tournament is being held here in Pakistan," Khan said.
