Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Ali Chishti, a former corps commander and federal minister, passed away on Monday at the age of 97 after a prolonged illness.
Chishti had been undergoing treatment at a hospital due to heart and lung complications.
Lt Gen Chishti had served as a corps commander. Following his retirement from the armed forces, he also held the position of a federal minister.
Recently, the president of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society, Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum, had also visited General Chishti in the hospital. Chishti has also been the president of the ex-servicemen society. Until his demise, he was the current patron-in-chief of Pakistan Ex-Servicemen Society.
His funeral prayers will be offered tomorrow at 3pm in Rawalpindi, where family, friends, and colleagues are expected to gather to pay their final respects.
