The family of Soldier Muhammad Saleem, who was martyred during a terrorist attack near Quetta on May 9, has expressed both pride and grief in the wake of his sacrifice. Saleem, serving at a check-post in Mch, was killed while bravely defending his country. His family members, including his father, mother, and brother, shared their personal reflections and the emotional toll of his loss.
Saleem's father, deeply proud of his son’s bravery, recalled his child’s unwavering commitment to serving the nation. “Saleem was a smart and good child. He always dreamed of protecting his country, even if it meant sacrificing his life for it,” he said. He added that despite the pain of loss, he took solace in knowing his son’s sacrifice had brought honor to the nation.
“I am proud of my son for offering his life for Pakistan,” said Saleem’s mother. Although she expressed deep sorrow, she found comfort in the belief that Allah had granted her son the ultimate honor of martyrdom. “Saleem loved everyone in our family dearly and always treated them with respect and affection,” she recalled, adding that despite the difficulty of hearing the news of his martyrdom, she thanked God for his elevated status.
Saleem’s brother, who was working in the fields when he received the tragic news, shared the emotional impact of the loss. “A brother is a strong pillar, and Saleem was mine. The moment I learned of his martyrdom, my heart sank, but I also felt immense pride knowing he had achieved such a high honor,” he said.
Saleem's family urged fellow citizens and soldiers to remain committed to defending the nation. “I call on all the soldiers, serving at the borders and across Pakistan, to perform their duties with integrity and work towards eradicating terrorism,” said his brother.
