Passengers on a Thailand-bound flight stood, chatted, and ate mid-air, resembling scenes from a train journey, a viral video revealed. The incident sparked widespread criticism and amusement online.
Ankit, an Instagram content creator, posted a video capturing the unusual behaviour of Indian passengers onboard. The footage, uploaded six weeks ago, garnered nearly 1.6 million views, 27,000 likes, and approximately 1,700 comments.
In the video, Ankit remarked that the passengers turned the aircraft into a train and criticised their conduct. He added that the cabin crew repeatedly requested them to sit down, but they ignored the instructions and continued to stand.
“Indians like to get insulted everywhere. People are standing in flight. It is not that the flight landed or prepared for take-off. It is literally mid-air,” Ankit said, expressing his disbelief.
Several users shared similar experiences in the comments. One individual recounted witnessing comparable behaviour while travelling to Thailand from China. He mentioned that an air hostess had to shout at passengers who refused to follow instructions.
The same user claimed that one traveller consumed paan masala mid-flight and expressed discomfort over how men stared at his girlfriend during their return journey from Thailand to Delhi.
