Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Hamid Khan said on Thursday that it is unlikely that the Donald Trump administration will take any step for Imran Khan.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV’s flagship programme, “Nadeem Malik Live”, Khan said; “The United States does not interfere in any other countries’ matters unless it is having own interests.”
In line with the negotiations, Khan said: “As of now there is no development in connection with the negotiations with the government.”
Speaking about the reserved seats, Khan stated: “The Supreme Court’s verdict on July 12 should be implemented pertaining to matters related to the reserved seats.
“The government has taken no measures to resolve the issues. The backchannel matters cannot be successful. The maters should be resolved openly,” stated Khan.
“Nobody bothers about the statement of Faisal Chaudhry. I don’t know who he is,” said Khan.
PTI leader Nisar Jutt said: “The PTI believes in negotiation. All the political parties had complained of rigging in the general elections.”
“The PTI founder has given mandate to five-member negotiation committee,” maintained Jutt.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha said: “The parliamentary committee should be constituted for the talks. The PML-N leaders, Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Saad Rafique and Khurram Dastgir can play pivotal role in negotiations.”
On the other side, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira stressed the need for moving forward the negotiations.
“The government should now move forward the matters pertaining to hold the talks. The matters should be moved forward apart from the events that transpired on May 9 and November 26 respectively.”
He said, “Giving the statements about the civil disobedience is like embracing treason. Both the parties [government, opposition] should sit together with open hearts. Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari will welcome the negotiations between the government and opposition.”
“Barrister Gohar Ali Khan had highlighted the positive aspect that no conditions should be imposed for the talks. However, Barrister Ali Zafar had talked about some conditions for holding negotiations with the government following his meeting with the PTI founder,” said Kaira.
