The Punjab government approved sending medicines and relief goods to Parachinar during the 21st provincial cabinet meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
CM Maryam said: "The people of Parachinar are their own and would not be left alone in times of trouble." She also announced the dispatch of a mobile health unit to the area.
The cabinet approved the Punjab Clean Air Programme in collaboration with the World Bank, which will include measures like electric buses, charging stations, and super seeders alongside multi-sectoral initiatives.
Funds were approved for free medicines in hospitals, the "Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Scheme Model Three" and other projects. The chief minister instructed the introduction of a farmer-friendly wheat policy.
Maryam Nawaz emphasised adopting a China-inspired model in sectors such as agriculture, IT, education, and health across Punjab.
She said: "The exceptional reception of the Pakistani delegation in China brought pride to the people of Punjab, with 60 major Chinese companies showing readiness to invest in the province. The approval of a China-Punjab desk was also granted."
