Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on the sidelines of the D-8 Summit in Cairo.
During the meeting, PM Shehbaz congratulated President Subianto on assuming office and discussed avenues for enhancing political, trade, and economic relations between the two nations.
The prime minister lauded Indonesia as a reliable trade partner and acknowledged its vital role in ensuring the supply of palm oil to Pakistan. He also expressed gratitude for Indonesia’s support of Pakistan’s membership in ASEAN, voicing hope that Pakistan would soon become a full-dialogue partner of the organization.
Both leaders reiterated their unwavering support for Palestine, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive strategy to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and resolve the Palestinian issue.
President Subianto accepted PM Shehbaz's invitation to visit Pakistan, marking a step toward further strengthening bilateral ties.
