A fire broke out in the old building of Foreign Office (FO) in Islamabad on Thursday.
It was quickly brought under control by fire brigade and Islamabad Municipal Corporation (MCI) teams.
The fire broke out in the old building of the FO which is located in the Red Zone.
Fire brigade and MCI teams responded promptly and were able to bring the fire under control before it could spread to other parts of the building.
No injuries were reported in the incident while the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said in a statement that a fire broke out due to a short circuit in equipment used by Capital Development Authority (CDA) staff to dismantle an old air conditioning unit.
She added the ministry's emergency response team, with the help of the fire brigade, quickly brought the fire under control.
