The NUTECH in Islamabad has commenced a specialized two-month mining training program for graduates from Balochistan.
Under the Barrick International Graduate Development Program for 2024, these selected graduates will undergo comprehensive training in mining technologies, geological exploration, safety protocols, and environmental conservation.
The training curriculum is designed to provide participants with in-depth knowledge of mining technologies, communication skills, and contemporary industry practices. Graduates will receive theoretical instruction at NUTECH and are set to complete an 18-month on-job training at Barrick's international mining sites.
This initiative builds upon NUTECH's previous successful engagement, where nine graduates from Balochistan were sent to Barrick's Argentine site for on-job training in 2023. The current program demonstrates a continued commitment to developing local talent and creating pathways for professional growth in the mining sector.
Participants will be exposed to critical aspects of mining operations, including geological surveying, exploration techniques, occupational safety standards, and environmental management strategies.
