All public and private schools and colleges in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi will remain closed on Monday, December 16.
Separate notifications were issued by the district administrations of Rawalpindi and Islamabad announcing the closure of educational institutions. However, the reasons behind the closure were not specified in the official statements.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon and Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Hassan Waqar Cheema both issued the notifications but did not provide further details on the matter.
When asked by Samaa TV, the Rawalpindi district administration officials mentioned that the closure was due to the prevailing security situation. They confirmed that all educational institutions across the district would be closed on the stated day.
