Syria is set to reopen its airspace to air traffic in the coming hours, according to Bahaa el-Din Sharm, the newly established rebel Syra’s rebel government Minister of Transport said.
The move comes as part of efforts to restore civilian aviation operations in the country.
“We are working on equipping civilian airports, and all necessary maintenance is being carried out to facilitate the reception and takeoff of aircraft through Syrian airports,” Sharm stated.
Damascus and Aleppo Airports to Follow
The minister also announced that the reopening dates for international airports in Damascus and Aleppo will be disclosed in the coming days, signaling progress toward normalizing air travel in the region.
This development marks a significant step in Syria’s recovery efforts, as the country works to rebuild its infrastructure and reestablish connections with the global aviation network.
