The third and final T20I between Pakistan and South Africa at Wanderers Stadium was called off due to persistent rain, resulting in a 2-0 series win for the Proteas.
Despite high hopes for an exciting conclusion, the match was delayed by ongoing light to heavy rainfall and lightning strikes, which prevented the toss from taking place. As the weather worsened, it became clear that no play would be possible.
This marks Mohammad Rizwan's second T20I series loss as Pakistan's captain, following a 3-0 whitewash by Australia in November. South Africa had already won the first two matches in Durban and Centurion.

In the opening match, South Africa posted a challenging total of 183/9, led by explosive knocks from David Miller and all-rounder George Linde. Miller made a blistering 82 off 40 balls, including four boundaries and eight sixes. Linde contributed a quickfire 48 from 24 balls with three boundaries and four sixes.
Pakistan’s response fell short, finishing at 172/8. Rizwan top-scored with 72 runs off 64 balls, while Saim Ayub added a quick 31 from 15 balls. Despite a strong start, Pakistan's middle order collapsed, and they lost by 11 runs.
In the second T20I, Pakistan posted an impressive 206/5, thanks to an outstanding 98* from Saim Ayub, who faced 57 balls and hit 11 boundaries and five sixes. Irfan Niazi also contributed with 30 off 16 balls. However, South Africa chased down the target with ease, losing only three wickets in 19.3 overs. Reeza Hendricks was the star with a match-winning 117 from 63 balls, including seven boundaries and 10 sixes. Rassie van der Dussen supported with an unbeaten 66 off 38 balls, ensuring a comfortable victory for the hosts.
With the T20I series now over, both teams will turn their attention to the upcoming ODI series, with the first match scheduled for December 17 at Boland Park, Paarl.
