Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has rewritten history by becoming the fastest batter to score 11,000 runs in T20 cricket.
According to details, he achieved this extraordinary milestone in just 298 innings, shattering the previous record set by West Indies legend Chris Gayle, who required 314 innings to reach the same figure.
Babar achieved the feat during a T20 match against South Africa, securing the milestone with his 11th run of the innings. His accomplishment establishes him as the first cricketer to reach 11,000 T20 runs in fewer than 300 innings.
The prolific batter was holding an array of T20 records, including being the fastest to 7,000, 9,000, 10,000, and now 11,000 runs. He has consistently cemented his position as one of the format’s most dependable and celebrated performers.
Babar is now the second Pakistani and the 11th player overall to surpass the 11,000-run mark in T20 cricket.
He now shared the elite milestone with names such as Chris Gayle, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard, Alex Hales, Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler.
Additionally, the former Pakistan skipper recently crossed 14,000 runs in international cricket and became the fifth Pakistani batter to achieve this milestone.
