The details of a triple murder case registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in connection with the martyrdom of three Rangers personnel during the PTI's recent Islamabad protest have come to the fore.
The FIR, lodged at the Ramna Police Station, was reportedly sealed on the instructions of higher authorities.
The incident occurred when three Rangers personnel were run over by an SUV during the PTI protest. According to the FIR's text, the act was premeditated, with the plan devised during meetings held in Adiala Jail. The incident took place on the instructions and orders of Imran Khan, the FIR alleges.
It also alleges that the PTI leadership orchestrated the incident through visits to the jail at various times.
Witness accounts from prisoners, workers, and undercover police officers in the jail have been cited in the FIR. The FIR accuses Bushra Bibi, Ali Amin Gandapur, Omer Ayub, Sheikh Waqas Akram of devising a strategy to comply with the order of the PTI founder.
It says Salman Akram Raja, Murad Saeed, Zulfi Bukhari, Rauf Hassan, Hammad Azhar and others are also involved in the criminal conspiracy.
The FIR claims that Bushra Bibi and other suspects incited the public through a video message to revolt against the army and the government, which eventually led to the tragic incident. An unidentified driver on duty crushed three Rangers personnel to death in a Land Cruiser during the protest, the FIR alleges.
The murder case includes 10 sections from the Pakistan Penal Code and the Anti-Terrorism Act. The complaint was lodged by a Sindh Rangers official.
